The solar eclipse is fast approaching and the city of Montreal wants to make sure that you’re protected to experience this event!

Starting today, you can get one of the 57,500 pairs of eclipse glasses that are accessible at 45 municipal libraries throughout Montreal.

The glasses are provided through a collaboration with the Planetarium and the Université de Montreal to guarantee the safety of individuals during the eclipse. It is important to protect your eyes from the sun's harmful rays, as they can cause irreversible damage during an eclipse.

If you're seeking activities for the day of the eclipse, don't miss out on the festivities at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Artists and entertainment will be on hand from 11 a.m. onwards to keep you entertained throughout the day.

The previous total solar eclipse in Montreal happened in 1932, so don't miss the chance to witness this extraordinary event!
