If you intend to drive around Montreal and Laval this weekend, take note of some road closures in the area.
Starting from the Papineau-Leblanc Bridge and a section of Highway 19, the roads will be fully closed to traffic from April 12 to April 15.
Highway 19 will be inaccessible from Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10 PM until Monday, April 15, 2024, at 4:30 AM.
A southbound closure will be in place between Highway 440 and Henri-Bourassa Boulevard. Nevertheless, Saint-Martin Boulevard will remain accessible.
Moreover, there will be a northbound closure between Henri-Bourassa and de la Concorde Boulevard.
If you want to travel from Montreal to Laval, you can take the Pie-IX Bridge or the Médéric-Martin Bridge. To go to Montreal from Laval, you can take the Pie-IX Bridge or the Louis-Bisson Bridge.
Additionally during April 12 to 22, there will be several nightly closures on Highway 25 in both directions. The closures are required for inspection of ventilation towers and maintenance work, as stated by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
Specifically, the section of Highway 25 leading to the South Shore exit 4 – Montreal (downtown) / Jacques Cartier Bridge, along with the entrance from Charron Island, will be closed. Similarly, the segment heading towards Montreal will also be affected.
The closure schedule is as follows until April 22:
- Friday to Saturday: 11 PM to 8 AM
- Saturday to Sunday: 11 PM to 9 AM
- Sunday to Monday: 10 PM to 5 AM
- Monday to Thursday: 9 PM to 5 AM.
There will be detour signs indicated in the area and drivers should expect congestion.
