Time Out Magazine released its world’s 20 best cities for food RIGHT NOW… and well, Montreal got a spot in that list!
In order to find out which cities deserved a spot in the ranking, the magazine quizzed locals on their city’s must-visit restaurants, must-eat dishes and best-value bites as well as the city’s food scene’s quality and affordability.
Montreal ranked number 18 out of 20, being the only Canadian city featured in the list and beating Osaka in Japan as well as Copenhagen in Denmark.
Our city’s must-eat dish? Poutine, of course! However, bagels and smoked meat also had honourable mentions!
Time Out magazine praised Montreal’s food scene not only for its French influence but also for being “one of the most restaurant-dense cities in North America.”
As for the city that made it to the top? Naples in Italy for its delicious Pizza margherita, followed by Johannesburg in South Africa and Lima in Peru.
