Now that the weather is getting more stable and summer truly sets in, isn’t it the perfect time to explore the beautiful outdoors Quebec has to offer? We thought so!
Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to travel far to find stunning views. Montreal and its surroundings provide breathtaking scenery just a short drive away.
Here are some hikes to add to your summer bucket list:
Mount Royal
Drive time from Montreal: None
Although it's more of a stroll than a hike, one of the main advantages of Mount Royal is that even without a car, you can still appreciate this lovely park located near downtown Montreal.
Parc-nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation
Drive time from Montreal: None
Another park that doesn't involve a hike, but strolling along the Rivière-des-Prairies banks makes it a delightful experience!
Mont Saint-Bruno National Park
Drive time from Montreal: 30 minutes
Not only do we love how close this hike is to the city core, but it is an incredibly beautiful option that is perfect for beginners!
Mont Tremblant
Drive time from Montreal:1 hour
Yes, we all know Mont Tremblant for skiing in the winter and the chalet weekends but over 10 trails are waiting for you. On top of that, whether you want an easy hike, you want to bring your pet or you’re looking for a challenge, you can find all of it there!
Mont Saint-Hilaire
Drive time from Montreal: 1 hour
Another hike outside of Montreal, Mont Saint-Hilaire is a beautiful park that is more scenic and beginner-friendly.
Mont-Mégantic
Drive time from Montreal: 1 hour
This one is a little bit more of a challenge but trust us, the views are worth all of it!
Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook
Drive time from Montreal: 2 hours
This park has three beautiful hiking trails but is also home to the longest suspended footbridge in North America! It’s definitely worth the drive!
L’Escapade (Mont Rigaud)
Drive time from Montreal: 1h and 30 minutes
Another very popular skiing destination that should not be missed in the summer! L’Escapade has 27km of hiking trails where you can either hike or even bring your bike!
Parc régional des Sept-Chutes
Drive time from Montreal: 2h and 15 minutes
This park is the farthest one from the list and we believe it’s the perfect place for a day trip! The park’s trails are surrounded by beautiful scenery and is home to the beautiful Mont Brassard Trail which is apparently a “must-see-it-to-believe-it” lake view!
