Ashlee Simpson is set to release an expanded edition of her debut album Autobiography.

The singer-songwriter originally dropped the record in July 2004, with the single Pieces of Me topping the music charts.

And to celebrate 20 years of the album, Ashlee announced on Wednesday that a new version will be available on Friday.

"Surprise! I'm dropping an expanded edition of Autobiography on Friday!" she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ashlee didn't offer any further details on what songs the expanded version may include.

Taking to Instagram earlier this week, the star posted a photo of the album cover and wrote, "On a Monday, I am waiting...for Autobiography to turn 20 this week!"

In response, a number of her celebrity friends shared their memories of the album.

"My middle school soundtrack!!!!" wrote Demi Lovato, while reality star Scheana Shay commented, "This album was and still is EVERYTHING."

Ashlee, who is the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, hasn't released an album since 2008's Bittersweet World.

However, she has had some acting roles in recent years and appeared in the 2018 reality TV series Ashlee+Evan alongside her husband Evan Ross.
