If you were planning to drive downtown Montreal this weekend, you might want to rethink that decision.

The Montreal Marathon is taking place this Sunday, with over 25,000 participants! Expect major closures and heavy traffic throughout the city.

The marathon will start at Parc Jean-Drapeau, pass through Old Montreal and Berri Street, then head towards La Fontaine Park. Runners will continue north on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, then head south and return to Saint-Joseph Boulevard before finishing at Maisonneuve Park.

Avoid the area around Maisonneuve Park between 6:30 AM and 2 PM. Any vehicles parked along the marathon route will be towed.
