We all felt the heat on Tuesday — and it turns out it wasn’t just in our heads. Montreal officially broke a temperature record for the month of June!
According to The Weather Network, the mercury soared to 35.1 degrees Celsius, edging past the previous record of 35 degrees Celsius set on June 30, 1964. It may not seem like a huge jump, but a record is a record!
This comes right after Monday’s high of 34.9 degrees Celsius, which had already triggered a heat warning across southern and central Quebec.
Thankfully, some relief is on the way. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with Thursday cooling down to 22 degrees Celsius under cloudy skies, followed by some rain on Friday.
