Lizzo has shut down speculation suggesting her recent weight loss is due to Ozempic.
On Friday, the Juice hitmaker took to Instagram to share several photos of her posing in a red silk kimono.
And over the top of a video post in which she is seen sighing and resting her cheek in her hand, Lizzo - real name Melissa Jefferson - addressed rumours about her body transformation, insisting she has been abiding by a new diet and fitness plan.
"When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit," she fired.
In recent years, the use of Ozempic - a weekly injection conventionally prescribed to help those with Type 2 diabetes - has caused a stir in the entertainment industry, with celebrities using it to help them lose and maintain their weight.
Lizzo also posted a screenshot of a comment made by a follower on a previous post.
The Instagram user questioned, "Did she use Ozempic or did she snort coke (cocaine)," to which the 36-year-old replied, "Whyyyy do u follow me?"
Since the start of the year, Lizzo has offered fans regular updates on her health journey via social media.
And many of her followers were quick to offer supportive messages following the attacks from online critics.
"When you've literally been posting your workouts as well," one fan wrote, while another added, "I've been noticing the changes these last few months, but I didn't mention it because it's 2024 and we shouldn't be talking about anyone's body. However, you look AMAZING!"
Previously, Lizzo shared that she was focused on health and fitness amid her hiatus from touring.
"I'm taking the time every day to put some love into my body. There is never a day when I regret taking a walk or doing some Pilates," she told The New York Times in April. "I've been methodical, losing weight very slowly."
