Talk about some expensive work! Renovations on the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel are ongoing, and Transport Quebec has revealed a massive price tag for the project.
According to the government agency, the cost is now expected to reach nearly $2.8 billion—almost double the original estimate from 2022.
As part of the ongoing work, major lane closures are planned for the weekend of May 2. South Shore-bound lanes will be closed for more than two nights, and all lanes heading toward Montreal will also be completely shut down.
