Beyonce has thanked Paul McCartney for writing "one of the best songs ever made".

The 16 Carriages singer took to the stage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening for her sixth and final show on the London leg of her Cowboy Carter Tour. During the set Beyonce thrilled fans with a stunning rendition of The Beatles' classic Blackbird.

After the performance, Beyonce thanked her British fans for such a warm welcome as she also paid tribute to one of their greatest ever musicians.

"Thank you, Sir Paul McCartney, for writing one of the best songs ever made. Every time I sing it, I feel so honored. And it is a full circle moment to wear your beautiful daughter's design," the star wrote on Instagram, as she also referenced wearing a custom-made outfit designed by Paul's daughter Stella McCartney.

She continued, "Thank you, London, for creating unforgettable memories for me and my family. Holla at 'ya when I come on tour again!"

Beyonce recorded a reimagined version of Blackbird, titled Blackbiird, for her recent album Cowboy Carter. The track featured Black female country artists including Brittney Spencer and Reyna Roberts.

Paul publicly showed his support for the track and hailed it as "magnificent".

"I think Beyoncé has done a fab version and would urge anyone who has not heard it yet to check it out," he wrote on Instagram. "You are going to love it."
