Hope you’re near an A/C or a pool, Montreal — there’s a serious heat warning in effect, and it’s not something to take lightly.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the city, with hot and humid weather making it feel like the low to mid-40s, possibly hitting 46 degrees Celsius.
Extreme heat can impact everyone’s health. Be sure to check in on older adults and anyone at risk throughout the day.
Stay safe by drinking water regularly — even before you feel thirsty. Environment Canada also recommends closing blinds or shades, using fans, or spending time in cooler areas of your home.
Wear lightweight, light-coloured, and loose-fitting clothing to reduce exposure to the sun and heat.
The warning is expected to remain in effect until Tuesday evening or early Wednesday, when temperatures will begin to ease.
