A new study just ranked Montreal as one of the happiest cities in the country!
According to Léger’s 2025 Happiness Index, Montreal placed second out of Canada’s 10 largest cities, with a score of 69.4 out of 100.
So which city claimed the top spot? Mississauga, Ontario, with a score of 70.3.
The survey, conducted between March 31 and April 13, 2025, gathered responses from 39,841 Canadians aged 18 and up.
Here’s how the 10 largest Canadian cities ranked:
- Mississauga, ON – 70.3
- Montreal, QC – 69.4
- Hamilton, ON – 67.5
- Calgary, AB – 67.4
- Brampton, ON – 66.7
- Ottawa, ON – 66.4
- Edmonton, AB – 66.3
- Vancouver, BC – 66.3
- Winnipeg, MB – 65.9
- Toronto, ON – 65.8
And that’s not all — when looking at provinces overall, Quebec ranked as the happiest province in the country!
