Air Canada Flight Attendants Vote Overwhelmingly for Strike Mandate

Air travel could soon become a little more complicated.

Of the 94.6% of Air Canada flight attendants who cast a ballot, 99.7% voted in favour of giving their union a strike mandate.

The union represents more than 10,000 flight attendants, who have been in contract negotiations since the start of 2025.

While the vote signals that members are prepared to strike, it doesn’t guarantee a work stoppage. However, the union could issue a 72-hour strike notice as early as August 16 if no agreement is reached.
