Montrealers will want to keep their warmest layers close this week as an intense cold spell settles over the city. After a frigid start to the week, temperatures are expected to remain well below seasonal norms.

The coldest stretch begins Monday evening, when temperatures will feel as low as -22 degrees Celsius dropping slightly overnight.

On Tuesday, a mix of sun and cloud is expected. Morning temperatures will hover around -21 degrees Celsius, before a little warm-up in the daytime to roughly –13 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday’s weather will be feeling closer to –6 degrees Celsius. However, the warmer air will be accompanied by snowfall, which may affect visibility and travel.

Residents are encouraged to dress accordingly and stay updated on changing conditions.
