A generation of Montrealers is preparing to say goodbye to a local nightlife staple.

Le Rouge Bar, located at the corner of Prince-Arthur, has announced it will officially close its doors after 23 years of operation.

The venue is set to shut down on January 31 as its lease comes to an end.

While it remains unclear if a new establishment will take its place, one thing is certain: the landscape of Montreal’s clubbing scene is shifting.
