The changes were announced by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to make it easier to get more affordable telecommunications services.
With the new rule taking effect this Friday, telecommunications providers will no longer be allowed to charge activation, plan-change, or cancellation fees.
