Well Montreal, it’s official! The Montreal Canadiens' beloved Brendan Gallagher has been traded to the Vancouver Canucks, as reported on Monday.

Gallagher is entering the final season of his contract at a $6.5 million cap hit, after which he will become an unrestricted free agent.

Originally selected by Montreal 147th overall in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, he has suited up for 911 regular-season games and 79 playoff games in his career.

The trade comes at an emotional time, as Gallagher was just recently named an honorary citizen of Montreal in a ceremony last Thursday.

We will miss you, Gally!
