Gracie Abrams has revealed dancing in clubs has become "central" to her life.

The singer-songwriter is currently gearing up for the release of her new album, Daughter from Hell, on 17 July.

In a new interview with Vogue, Abrams explained hitting the dancefloor with friends has helped her overcome some of her deepest fears and inspired her to experiment with her music.

"No, just like going to the club!" she replied when asked if she has been taking dance classes. "In the past six months, going out and dancing has become a really central part of my life. It's been such an exciting outlet."

Alongside recording new material, Abrams has landed her first acting role in Halina Reijn's A24 period drama Please.

While the 26-year-old star is keeping details about the new project under wraps, she admitted to feeling daunted ahead of her film debut.

"I'm trying to remain open to whatever the experience looks like and feels like," Abrams, the daughter of filmmaker and producer J.J. Abrams, explained.

"And not get in my own way or let fear dictate my openness. I am very curious about how that's going to unfold. It feels so weird talking about it, having not shot it yet."

As if acting, singing and dancing aren't enough, Abrams also revealed another new hobby - drawing.

The Hit the Wall musician has developed an interest in depicting her closest friends using pastels.

I'm drawing little portraits of friends whenever we're together," she shared. "There's something quick and kind of silly about it, but I also find it very therapeutic and peaceful. I love it because it's not that deep."
