Did you go to school in Canada? If the answer is yes, you instantly recognize the classic Hilroy notebook. With a map of the country printed across the front, it’s a household staple that almost every Canadian has owned at some point.
However, Hilroy recently released a new edition of the cover with a giant mistake: Newfoundland is completely gone, Cape Breton has been erased from Nova Scotia's coast, and Haida Gwaii is missing off the coast of British Columbia.
It didn’t take long for the public to notice or for the Premiers of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador to comment on the oversight.
Hilroy quickly addressed the blunder in a Facebook post (below).
The company has since pulled the incorrect notebooks from distribution and is updating the artwork. If you’ve already purchased one of the misprinted notebooks, you can submit a request for a free replacement or a full refund directly through the ACCO Brands Canada website.
