Commuters heading into and out of Montreal should prepare for delays. One lane on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge was closed indefinitely Tuesday night after maintenance crews discovered a crack on one of the structure’s steel support beams earlier that afternoon.

Despite the damage, Transport Québec confirmed the bridge remains safe for travel.

Drivers are encouraged to check Québec 511 for live traffic updates and to plan their routes accordingly.
