If I didn't have homework in elementary school it would've made me very very late and lazy in my opinion it's your worst enemy when it comes to academics.
A grade 6 teacher from an elementary school agrees that there is a purpose for doing something academic at home but doesn't necessarily have to be in the form of homework and worksheets. Students can be expected to work on a project or practice basic skills that they haven't acquired within a school setting, but in the end school work or "homework" quote on quote should be supervised by the teacher, whatever is happening in class should be supervised by the teacher who can zone in and give the child support as they need it. Versus sending work home and parents not knowing what to do with it.
