Canadian pop star Tyler Shaw joined The Beat Breakfast Club from his Ottawa studio after being named one of five Canadian finalists competing for a spot at Eurovision.
Shaw shared the chaotic moment he received the CBC email during family dinner time, keeping the secret for three weeks before the public announcement. When asked about eccentric stage outfits, he explained he prefers focusing purely on emotion and songwriting over theatrical costumes. He also introduced his new single—the title track to an upcoming 13-track concept album themed around the "seven-year itch".
