Until now wearing masks while taking public transport wasn’t mandatory. Now Quebecers are being officially asked to wear masks when they take public transport.

The STM is providing all their employees with mask in order to set a good example to all users. The advice was sent on behalf of the Ministry of Transport, the CNESST worker safety commission, and Quebec’s National Institute of Public Health.

Since following the social distancing rules of two meters while taking public transport can be hard health officials said wear a mask.
