Two Montreal universities were ranked as one of the top 5 best research universities in Canada.
According to Research Infosource Inc., Canada has some of the best universities when it comes to academic research. However, some invest more into their research than other universities.
With data obtained from Statistics Canada, the list is tallied by sponsored research which, “[...] Includes all funds to support research received in the form of a grant, contribution or contract from all sources external to the institution.”
Their top academic facilities of 2021 for research includes both McGill University (3rd place) and Université de Montréal (4th place). University of Toronto made the number one ranking with University of British Columbia coming in second place.
According to the list, other Montreal universities that made the list include Université du Québec à Montréal, Concordia University, and École de technologie supérieure.
