The Santa Claus Parade is coming back to town for a 70th Edition this weekend!
The City of Montreal is extremely excited to announce the return of the iconic Santa Claus Parade, after its long overdue two-year hiatus… And this year will be 100 percent electric!
The Santa Claus Parade, led by THE Québec Santa Claus and the Star Fairy, played for the very first time by Barbada, will follow along its usual route from Sainte-Catherine West between Guy St. and Place des Festivals. Families will then be able to meet Santa Claus at the end of his journey at Complexe Desjardins.
Spectators will be able to enjoy a magical experience in the heart of downtown Montreal with over 15 creatively designed floats (all 100% electric), 500 artists and volunteers along with marching bands from all over Canada… Special guests include Cirque du Soleil show Corteo, the troupe from the Québec Issime show Décembre, and kids’ favorites Atchoum and Henri Godon.
“The Santa Claus Parade is a great family tradition that has carried on and reinvented itself for 70 years now in downtown Montréal,” states Glenn Castanheira, general manager of Montréal centre-ville in the official press release. “It inaugurates the winter season, which we’re hoping will be every bit as outstanding as the summer we enjoyed this year. Whether it’s to welcome Santa Claus, spend time with the family, get together with colleagues from work or begin shopping for gifts, our downtown remains the gathering place par excellence for all Quebecers.”
With more than 400,000 spectators expected for the event, we are thrilled to share that The Beat 92.5 will be one of the partners walking in the parade, to help kick off the winter season… And, of course, to welcome Santa’s return to town!
It’s all going down on Saturday, November 19th at 11am on Sainte-Catherine West… We’ll see you there, Montreal!
