Lorde has made a surprise appearance at a Sydney club that was hosting a Lorde-themed event.
The New Zealand-born musician turned up unannounced, then casually jumped on stage to perform some of her best loved hits.
The event, held at Mary's Underground in Sydney's CBD, was intended as a celebration of the singer's discography, with DJs spinning their favourite Lorde tracks from Pure Heroine to Solar Power.
"We're throwing a club night dedicated to @lorde on 25 May as part of our new Sunday series at @marysunderground," organisers posted before the event.
"Come dance (or cry) in the club as DJ @xeimma plays all the eras, alongside alt-pop bangers, drag shows, and themed drinks!"
According to fan videos and eyewitness accounts, the Grammy-winning artist joined the crowd late in the evening, snapping photos with fans before stepping on stage to perform. The intimate venue quickly morphed into the ultimate Lorde sing-along.
"So last night was insane... someone wake me up... let's do it all over again (minus our queen)," organisers wrote the next day, clarifying the appearance was a one-off.
The surprise performance comes ahead of Lorde's Ultrasound world tour, which kicks off in the US this September.
Her fourth studio album, Virgin, is set to drop on 27 June.
