After 43 years of business, Montreal's café-bar 'Le Saint-Sulpice' will officially close for good. The business made a sad announcement on Sunday saying that they thanked 'all their customers, especially those from the student and artistic backgrounds'.
This is sad news for those who enjoyed the Saint-Sulpice in the 90's, when it was a hot-spot for University students and those in their 20's. First opening in 1980, the bar on St-Denis was known for its garden terrasse and low-priced beer. Friday and Saturday nights were when the bar was most packed.
Many expressed their sadness under the Saint-Sulpice's Facebook post with the following comments:
'Thank you for all the beautiful memories!!'
'So many memories in this bar.'
'Impossible! This bar marked my 20's. I spent most of the 90's there. Unforgettable nights and parties of all kind. I will never forget this place.'
The bar will remain opened until the end of February. Do you have any good memories from the Saint-Sulpice bar?
