A steaming bag of popcorn, all the blankets you can find, and a fresh DVD ready to be played on the TV...movie nights used to be good, right?
Until recenly, the well-known streaming platform Netflix offered its users the chance to relive the nostalgia of watching their favourite movies on DVD, thanks to their DVD-by-mail services.
DVD Netflix, as it's called, offers "a huge selection of new movies, hard-to-find classics, and premium TV for as little as $9.99 a month." DVD's are delivered straight to your door, offering at-home movie nights that are "cheaper than a movie ticket."
Sadly, this service offered by Netflix will end soon...
"On September 29th, 2023, we will send out the last red envelope. It has been a true pleasure and honor to deliver movie nights to our wonderful members for 25 years. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey, including this final season of red envelopes" ,said the movie provider through a Twitter post earlier this week, "We sincerely want to thank all of our amazing members. We couldn’t have delivered more than 5 billion envelopes all across America without movie lovers like you."
If you too, were surprised to find out Netflix offered this DVD service, you still have a few months to try the experience! Find out more on DVD Netflix's website.
BRB, we're about to go watch 'The Notebook' for the 100th time...
