If we had to name an inspirational gesture of the week, it would probably be this one...
After winning a $70 million jackpot with Loto Quebec last June, Marcel Lussier recently donated $7 million of it to an important foundation. This retired Hydro-Quebec engineer originally said he planned on donating part of his big win towards an autism foundation. On Tuesday this week, that's exactly what he did.
More specifically, the Loto Quebec winner donated 10 percent of his winnings to the Vero & Louis Foundation, a group providing housing for adults affected by autism.
In Canada, 1 percent of adults are affected by autism. In Quebec, it's 1.5 percent.
Marcel Lussier is aware of the autism situation in Quebec and hopes his donation will be widely appreciated ."I know that this $7 million will be put to good use," said the jackpot winner in a press release.
Way to go! What would you do with such a huge jackpot, Montreal?
