Montreal's infamous 'Tour de l'Île' bike event is BACK this weekend, folks! Every year, thousands of cyclists regroup to celebrate the sport and discover Montreal and its bike paths.
Last year alone, close to 15,000 cyclists took part in this event. It's safe to say it was a success, and the stakes are high for this year's edition!
This event also means that a few of Montreal's roads will be closed over the weekend. Here are the closure details:
On Friday, June 2nd, between 5pm and midnight, closures will occur in the Rosemont, Saint-Léonard and Montréal-Nord neighborhoods. More specifically, cyclists will use the Viau and Beaubien streets, as well as Langelier, Gouin and Provencher Boulevards.
On Sunday, June 4th, the areas of Rosemont, Saint-Léonard, Rivière-des-Prairies, Montréal-Nord, Ahunstic, Villeray and Parc-Extension will be affected. More specifically, the Provencher, Lavoisier, Gouin, De l'Acadie and Rosemont Boulevards will be in use, as well as Viau Street.
"As these events will change the usual traffic conditions, we invite you to plan your trips," mentions the 'Tour de l'Île' event on its Web page. For complete details on street closures this weekend, click here.
