By this point, you've probably heard of the metro's plans to build a new 'pink line'. Like its colour, this new STM metro line seems like a fantasy, something magical and far, far away...But with this announcement made by mayor Valerie Plante earlier this week, the new 'pink line' could be closer than we think!

In the announcement, Plante revealed that a new and redesigned living district in Montreal is ready to welcome this new metro line. More specifically, the Lachine-Est eco-district is ready to "set stage for the development of the first section of the pink line."

The new 'pink line' should amply serve this new district of Lachine, offering its residents a faster than ever before way to access downtown Montreal. "What makes me most proud is that this vision of the future for Lachine-Est is the result of unprecedented collaboration with the population. It is a collective success that will enable us to respond effectively to the needs and aspirations of Montrealers," said mayor Valerie Plante in the announcement.
