Your downtown selfies are about to get a whole lot better...because Montreal officially just got its 'Bonjour Montréal' sign!

Installed by Tourisme Montreal, the new sign will hopefully attract more tourists and put Montreal on the map (and on social media, of course).

Here are a few details of what what we know so far:

  • The new sign is located at Montreal's Old Port Quay
  • It measures 2.350 metres in height and 15.646 metres in width
  • Its front features recycled wood made from Montreal ash trees that unfortunately had to be cut down
  • Its back features a polished steel surface
  • It was designed and built in Montreal
  • It cost $495,000

There you have it! Hollywood and New York may have its own similar signs, but we already know that Montreal's is the best.
