Now that the solar eclipse has passed and many of us have witnessed the totality, you might be thinking... What should you do with your solar eclipse glasses now?

Well, you’ve got a few options.

The next total solar eclipse in Canada is set for 2044 in the western region. Meanwhile, you can hold onto your glasses for the partial eclipse occurring in 2025, or simply keep them as a memory.

If you’re planning on keeping them, it is best to place them in a book to keep them safe or simply in a box.

However, if you have no intention of keeping them, you can remove the lenses and discard them while recycling the cardboard part of the glasses.

If your glasses are in good condition but you no longer need them, consider donating them to organizations like Astronomers Without Borders. They distribute them to less fortunate countries that will benefit from them during the next eclipse.
