The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has officially announced that its bus and metro services will be significantly disrupted from June 9 to 17 due to an upcoming strike by maintenance workers.
According to the STM, the strike will affect service levels throughout the week, with different schedules depending on the date.
Here's what to expect:
- June 9, 10, and 11: Bus and metro services will operate only during morning and afternoon rush hours, as well as late in the evening. There will be no service available outside of these time frames.
- June 12: Transit services will run at full capacity (100%) during peak periods, and at 50% capacity during off-peak hours.
- June 13 to 15: Transit will operate as usual throughout Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend. This exception was made following a mutual agreement between STM maintenance workers and the Administrative Labour Tribunal to ensure service for the high-traffic event.
- June 16 and 17: Similar to June 12, service will be offered at 100% during peak hours and 50% during off-peak periods.
Make sure to plan your transit trips accordingly in this time period.
