Montreal and surrounding areas affected with power outages

Gusty winds are hitting the Montreal region and are expected to intensify, with some reaching up to 90 km/h.

Currently, nearly 80,000 Hydro-Québec customers are without power. The Montérégie region is the hardest hit, accounting for about 31,000 outages. Hydro-Québec has confirmed that nearly 250 teams are working to restore service.

Wind conditions are expected to improve by Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
