Montreal woke up to freezing rain and high winds on Monday morning, leaving some residents without power.

Environment Canada announced that the period of freezing rain and ice pellets will continue through the end of the day with up to 15 millimetres of ice accretion in Montreal.

Currently, around 2,000 Hydro Québec customers are without electricity in Montreal and close to 20,000 across the province.
