Catherine O'Hara has died at the age of 71.

The Home Alone star passed away on Friday, her manager confirmed to Variety. No cause of death has yet been released.

Representatives for O'Hara have not yet released a statement.

The Hollywood star became a household name in 1990 when she starred as Kate McCallister, mother to Macaulay Culkin's Kevin McCallister, in the first two Home Alone films.

O'Hara earned her first Emmy when she appeared on the Canadian sketch comedy series Second City Television and went on to appear in films such as After Hours, Beetlejuice and Home Fries.

The Canadian actress was a frequent collaborator with actor, screenwriter and director Christopher Guest, appearing in his mockumentaries For Your Consideration, Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman and A Mighty Wind.

O'Hara also had voice acting credits in the animated films Chicken Little and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

More recently, O'Hara enjoyed a career resurgence with her role as Moira Rose in the hit sitcom Schitt's Creek, which ran from 2015 to 2020 and also starred Eugene and Dan Levy. She won a number of awards for the role, including Best Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes in 2020 and Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series at the Actor Awards the same year.

O'Hara is survived by her husband, production designer Bo Welch, and their two sons, Matthew and Luke.
