Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin were the surprise guests to join Bad Bunny on stage at Super Bowl LX.

More often than not, the halftime show headliner brings out a handful of surprise guests to perform alongside them on the night.

No special guests were announced ahead of Bad Bunny's performance, with the reggaeton star simply teasing that "the world will dance".

The Puerto Rican rapper was once himself a surprise guest in 2020 when he performed alongside headliners Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.

Rumours swirled about who might join him on stage, with top contenders including Cardi B and Daddy Yankee.

In the end it was Gaga, who sang a salsa version of Die With a Smile, and Martin with Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii, who helped bring the house down.

Bad Bunny delivered a high-energy performance. Dressed in a futuristic white suit, he sang a medley of hits including crowd favourites Tití Me Preguntó, Dakiti, Baile Inolvidable and Where She Goes.

He ended with DtMf and a giant blaze of fireworks. In between, he shouted out "God bless America!" and named every country in Latin America.

The Puerto Rican star's performance marks a historic moment as he becomes one of a handful of Latin artists to headline the NFL's coveted halftime slot. He was the first Spanish-only performer during a halftime show in Super Bowl history.

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed Jessica Alba and Pedro Pascal dancing below the main stage.
