Despite the rain and the cold weather that Montreal is still experiencing, the city is slowly transitioning into summer mode, which is the perfect time for Montrealers to ditch their cars, soak up the sunshine, and explore some of the city’s cutest neighborhoods on foot.
This year again, the City of Montreal is making this easier by transforming several streets into pedestrian-only zones for the season.
Here are the pedestrianized streets and the dates you can enjoy them:
- Place Jacques-Cartier: April 15 – Oct. 29
- Saint-Paul Street East (Marché-Bonsecours to Saint-Laurent Blvd.): April 15 – Oct. 29
- Sainte-Catherine Street East (Saint-Hubert to Papineau): May 15 – Oct. 12
- Bernard Avenue (Wiseman to Bloomfield): May 23 – Sept. 20
- Mount Royal Avenue (Saint-Laurent Blvd. to Saint-Denis): May 28 – Oct. 12
- Mount Royal Avenue (Saint-Denis to De Lorimier): May 28 – Sept. 7
- Places D'Youville et Royale: June 3 – Sept. 1
- Avenue du Musée (Sherbrooke West to Docteur-Penfield): June 1 – Oct. 16
- Duluth Avenue East (Saint-Laurent Blvd. to Saint-Hubert): June 18 – Oct. 12
- Sainte-Catherine Street West (De Bleury to Saint-Laurent Blvd.): Until end of summer
- Wellington Street (Régina to 6th Avenue): Date to be confirmed
- Ontario Street (Pie-IX to Darling): Date to be confirmed
