Dolly Parton gave her seal of approval to a biopic and docuseries prior to her death.

The country music icon died on Tuesday at the age of 80 following a "brief battle" with cancer.

On Wednesday, Parton's longtime manager, Danny Nozell, announced that the Jolene hitmaker had greenlit a number of projects prior to her passing, including an avatar show, a biopic, a docuseries, a scripted series, a documentary about her upcoming DOLLY: A True Original Musical, and an animated series inspired by her Billy The Kid children's book.

In a press release, Nozell emphasised that he and his team are dedicated to bringing a "multitude" of projects to fruition.

"Dolly worked up until the day she died. She loved seeing her dreams come to life, and loved knowing her work brought people joy," he said. "Ever the planner, Dolly worked with the team that she handpicked, for the past several years to build a project roadmap that will guide us for decades to come."

In addition, Nozell shared that other events and launches Parton had planned will still go ahead this year. These include the opening of Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel and Dolly's Life Of Many Colors Museum next month.

Meanwhile, previews of her show DOLLY: A True Original Musical are set to begin on 7 December.

"As the leader of the team responsible for overseeing her legacy, we will ensure the many dreams she had yet to fulfil are brought to life," he added. "Many projects were in various stages of development, and we want to be transparent with her fans about this fact. If you see unreleased music, products, books, experiences, and campaigns launched through official Dolly Parton channels, you can have confidence in knowing that she placed her personal stamp on it."
