If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet or haven’t booked an appointment health officials are urging Montrealers to do so as soon as possible.

According to doctors in Quebec, flu season is hitting earlier than usual this year, with children and adults aged 65 and over among the most at risk.

Experts say one reason this season is particularly rough is due to mutations in the seasonal influenza virus.

Flu shots are generally free and available at many clinics and pharmacies across Montreal. Appointments can be booked through Clic Santé.
