Following the heavy snowfall that blanketed the region over the last 48 hours, the City of Montreal has announced its fifth official snow-removal blitz of the season, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Nearly 3,000 workers and a fleet of trucks will hit the streets starting at 7 p.m. tonight. Officials expect the city-wide operation to take several days to complete.
While light flurries are forecasted throughout the week, accumulations are not expected to match the significant levels seen during Sunday night’s storm.
