Quebec shoppers will soon have more time to browse, as a new pilot project extending retail hours officially launches on March 11.
Under this initiative, retail businesses across the province will have the flexibility to remain open later on weekends. Eligible businesses, including boutiques, department stores, and hardware stores, will be permitted to operate daily from 6 AM to 9 PM, excluding statutory holidays.
This rollout follows successful trials previously conducted in Gatineau, Laval, and Saint-Georges.
It is important to note that grocery stores and pharmacies are not affected by these changes, as they already operate under existing exemptions regarding opening hours.
